Introducing Samuel Quartey, BIB’s Pathways Service Coordinator

My name is Samuel Quartey. I joined Blind in Business in April 2024 as the charity’s Pathways Service Coordinator.

As a Pathways Service Coordinator, I have had the opportunity to work on events and activities that sit in the overall objective of the charity’s dedication and commitment to helping blind and partially sighted people get into work.

Thanks to my role, you will sometimes find me passing down the traffic lights to speak at a school in East London, see me on the trains with my arms fixed with coffee to keep me energised for a career fair in Polegate and interesting but truly, hear me argue with train staff on the delays they’re causing to a Work Experience event I am leading on at the office.

Thinking that was all, no! You will need to join the online event called Building Prospects to witness how my audience get curious about the support they could get from employers, how they can disclose their disabilities without fears, and some wondering if they are allowed to play their guitar?

It is all these when put together, coupled with the end results these activities produce as well as the amazing colleagues I work with, why I describe my role to be one of fun, learning-curves and inspiring.
