Careers & disability advisors
Blind in Business help people who are blind or partially sighted to get into work, and we support those who work with blind and partially sighted people in finding the tools and resources they need – people like Careers and Disability Advisors.
Because we work directly with students and graduates, we know the types of questions that they’re likely to ask you, and the concerns that they often have. How to find employment, and what are the chances of getting employment are two of the biggest concerns we come across.
We have successfully worked with over 500 graduates, helping them to compete on an even level with other graduates in their chosen industry.
We offer training to both students and employers, so if you work within the careers advice field, our courses and events may be of particular interest to you. We can even work with you to arrange courses at your school, college or university.
We can help with:
- Providing information on current recruitment programmes in easy to access formats, for you to pass on to your students
- Training and interview practice sessions
- Advice and support on the equipment your students could utilise in order to find work and be an effective employee once in work
- Information and advice on disclosing a visual impairment, so you and your students know how to handle that scenario
All of the services we offer to students, graduates and undergraduates are relevant, and we’d be delighted to talk to you about how we can help you help students with visual impairments in your care.
